The Home Stretch Baby!

This week I have entered the THIRD trimester.

Bam!

It's just as everyone says...it goes by soooo much faster the second time around.  I feel like it's gone by fast and yet I feel like I've been pregnant for about 3 years.  How is that possible?  Fast and slow at the same time.

I haven't really been doing belly pics this time.  I mean, occasionally on Instagram but overall I basically look the same as I did with Jack.  I think.  Hmmm.  Now I must go check...

28 weeks with Jack.  Um.  Yeah.  Ok, so it's totally worth taking a picture and comparing.
Be right back.  :)

The one on the right...28 weeks with baby girl.  Hmmm.  Interesting.

Well I think the clothes that you are wearing does a lot for perspective.  Like baby girl looks way higher then Jack did but I think that's because the shirt that I am wearing is so much longer and so it's kinda creating an illusion.  But maybe she IS higher?  I mean...look at the top of my belly with Jack.  It's sloppy.  Where as with #2...it look a bit more "full" of baby.  Who knows.

Fun to compare though.  :)

I am pleased to say that I FEEL waaaaay fatter this time around but judging by the picture...I look about equally fat as last time.  ;)  Ha!

Anyways, what else?

Not too much to note.  My hips are still giving me grief.  I didn't have issues with my hips with Jack until after I gave birth.  That first couple of weeks after birth they would seize up and I would literally drag a leg behind me.  So painful.  If I'm on my feet too much by the end of the day they ache like crazy.

Also...sleep.  I literally had a few nights of pregnancy insomnia with Jack but overall I slept pretty well.  Don't remember being that uncomfortable...even when I was at the end.  This pregnancy I can only sleep on my right side.  It's like I have a mental block regarding my left side.  It just isn't comfortable...and I can't even tell you why.  Super weird!  :)  Dreams are cuh-razy.  That's been the case with both pregnancies.

I think I've finally leveled out on my sweet/junk food consumption.  The first and second trimester...that's basically all I wanted.  Now I'm back to my "normal" eating habits I think.  Just have to make sure I snack here and there.  When I'm not pregnant I tend to eat 2 large meals a day (with dinner being the biggest)...and not much snacking.  I've never had a big "hunger feeling".  My dad and I are the same in that we can literally forget to eat sometimes.  I can't do that while pregnant.  I start feeling like I'm about to pass out if I don't eat something small every couple of hours or so.  I guess that's my body's way of keeping that baby nourished.  :)

And I guess that's it.  I finally bought a set of cute onesies for little girl.  So she at least has clothes for 5 days...or 1 day considering how much they blow out their diapers.  I also made her and Jack some adorable little minky/cotton blankets.  Kinda wanted to burn the fabric by the time I was done...minky is horrible to work with.  At least they came out cute.  And Jacko looooves his.  He cuddles it and drags it around the house with him.  Basically adorable.  :)

Alright.  That's all I got.  I start my "every two week" obgyn appointments today.  Oh yay.  Sarcasm.  It was great when I had to work but now that I have to drag a fidgety little toddler with me...not quite as fun and relaxing.  (Though hearing that little heartbeat never gets old.)  This time though daddy is coming home early and hanging out with his little buddy.  I have to do the glucose test before the appt...was supposed to do that a month ago.  Ooops!  ;)  So...I'm a little excited for my "break".

Happy Thursday amigos!!!

  1. every 2 week appointments: UGH. Why do they have to take up SO MUCH TIME???? I've been every 2 weeks since January when they thought that baby had heart problems and put us through emotional torture for a month to decide everything is perfect, but, we're still going to check every 2 weeks. Thanks a lot, doc! Anyhow I think you look like you are carrying higher too. I feel that way a bit also. Fun to be this close in pregnancy this time around!!!
